Axe Ahmed for Mayor
A Rochester that's yours.
Rochester is where I grew up, where my family calls home, and where I'm raising my kids. I'm running for mayor so this city works for every family, in every neighborhood.

What matters to You.
Tell us what matters. As more neighbors weigh in, we'll show you what we're hearing — and what we're doing about it.
Representation should leave a record.
I didn't just promise it. I built it.
openRochester is a free tool I built that shows how City Hall actually works — who decides what, and where every dollar goes, ward by ward. The receipts behind the promises.

My priorities
Tap any card for the detail — and what the mayor can actually do.
Show the work
Post the bill, the decision, and the result where any resident can check it.
More
No more finding out after the vote.
Representation should leave a record.
Housing people can afford
Rochester grew. The housing didn't keep up.
More
I'll back more homes on the land and infrastructure we already have, so families, seniors, and young people aren't priced out of the city they're from.
Every ward, not just downtown
Snow, sidewalks, parks, the corner business.
More
I'll track what each neighborhood is actually dealing with and show up where the calls are coming from.
Public safety
Keeping our police force fully staffed is hard, ongoing work — through retirements and tough recruiting.
More
I'll hold that line and protect the community trust that makes policing actually work.
Growth that pays for itself
Smart growth widens the tax base so the bill stops landing on homeowners.
More
I'll prioritize the development that actually makes financial sense for the city — and hold property-tax growth closer to inflation, so a fixed income doesn't get taxed out of a home you've already paid off.
Measurable results
Good intentions aren't a plan. Set the goal. Track it in public. Report back every quarter.
More
If it's not working, say so — and fix it.

Meet Axe Ahmed
I'm Axe Ahmed — a Rochester native, John Marshall High School graduate, husband, and father of three.
Rochester has always been home. It's where I grew up, and where my high school sweetheart, Laura, and I are raising our three children. Like many Rochester families, we're invested in the future of our city and the opportunities it creates for the next generation.
I spent my career turning messy data into decisions people can act on. That's exactly what City Hall is missing.
I'm running for mayor because residents should see the whole picture, not just the ribbon-cuttings. I read the budgets, the staff reports, the fine print. I do the homework. And I'll show you all of it. I'd be honored to earn your vote.
